Contact lens accessories we actually use

Coloured lenses last a lot longer and feel a lot nicer when you've got the right bits to look after them. This collection is everything we keep on our own bathroom shelves and in our handbags: something to store them in, something to clean them with, and a couple of little tools that make putting them in much less faff.

Everything here is cheap, so it's easy to add to a lens order. Accessories also go out the same day if you order before 2pm on a working day.

Contact lens cases and travel kits

A case is the one thing you really can't skip. Our case and kit sets come with a mirror, a mini case, a small solution bottle, tweezers and an applicator, all in one pot that fits in your bag. The plain colours like Pink, Yellow and Black are £3.99, the Metallic Gold, Rose Gold and Silver kits are £4.99, and the sparkly Diamond kits are £5.49.

If you'd rather have something cute, the Strawberry, Bear, Frog, Watermelon and Tiger kits are £3.49 each, and the Disney Winnie the Pooh case has Pooh and Tigger on it. For a simple spare, the basic Contact Lens Case is just £1.99. We'd always keep one at home and one in your bag.

Contact lens solution

Our Contact Lens Solution is a 60ml saline solution that works with the rub and rinse method and is suitable for all our lenses. It's £4.99 and a good size for travelling. Use fresh solution every single time you store your lenses, and never top up the old stuff. Never use tap water either, not even for a quick rinse.

Applicators and remover tools

If you've got long nails, or you're just a bit squeamish about touching your eyes, an applicator tool is a lifesaver. The Contact Lens Applicator and Remover Tool is a soft suction stick that comes in its own little storage bottle, for £1.99. There's also a set with tweezers, an applicator and a remover in a small case. Use the tweezers to pick lenses out of the case, never to touch your eye.

Ultrasonic contact lens cleaners

Our Green and Pink Ultrasonic Contact Lens Cleaners run a 2 minute cycle that helps shift protein and make up build up. They take 2 AAA batteries (not included), and we use ours twice a week alongside the normal rub and rinse. At £9.99, they're a nice extra if you wear your lenses a lot.

Lashes to finish the look

We also stock reusable false eyelashes. Natural Lashes are around 15mm and Classic Lashes are around 14mm and a bit fuller, with 5 pairs in each pack for £3.49. Lenses and lashes go really well together, especially for photos.

A quick care routine

  • Wash and dry your hands before touching your lenses.
  • Rub and rinse each lens with fresh solution after you take it out.
  • Store them in a clean case with fresh solution, and let the case air dry each day.
  • Replace your case regularly. They're cheap, and old cases collect germs.

Contact Lens Accessories FAQs

What do I need to look after coloured contact lenses?
At the very least, a clean contact lens case and proper contact lens solution. A pair of tweezers and an applicator make handling easier, and an ultrasonic cleaner is a nice extra if you wear them a lot. Our case kits include most of this in one pot.
Can I use tap water to clean contact lenses?
No, never. Tap water can carry bugs that cause serious eye infections. Always use fresh contact lens solution to rub, rinse and store your lenses, and don't rinse your case with tap water either.
How often should I replace my contact lens case?
We'd swap it out every few months, or sooner if it looks grubby or gets cracked. Cases are cheap, from £1.99, so it's not worth risking an old one. Rinse it with solution and let it air dry every day.
Can I reuse contact lens solution?
No. Throw the old solution away each time and fill the case with fresh solution. Topping up the old stuff means your lenses sit in dirty liquid, which isn't good for your eyes.
What contact lens solution should I use for coloured lenses?
Our Contact Lens Solution is suitable for all our lenses and works with the rub and rinse method. It's a 60ml bottle, so it's great for travel too. If you use a different brand, make sure it's a solution made for soft contact lenses.
How do I put in contact lenses with long nails?
An applicator tool makes it much easier. Pop the lens on the soft tip, hold your eyelids open with your other hand and place the lens on your eye. The same tool can be used to remove lenses too, so your nails never get near your eye.
Do ultrasonic contact lens cleaners work?
They help. The vibrations loosen protein, make up and oils that build up on lenses over time. We use ours twice a week alongside a normal rub and rinse, not instead of it.
Are your contact lens case kits good for travelling?
Yes, that's what we use them for. Each kit has a mirror, a mini case, a small bottle for solution, tweezers and an applicator, all in one small pot. Fill the bottle with fresh solution before you go and you're sorted.
Can I add accessories to a lens order?
Of course. Most people pop a case or solution in with their lenses. Order before 2pm on a working day and everything goes out the same day with Royal Mail next day delivery. You'll get free sweeties in the parcel too.
Are your false lashes reusable?
Yes. Our Natural Lashes and Classic Lashes are synthetic and reusable, with 5 pairs in every pack for £3.49. Gently peel off the glue after each wear and keep them in their tray so they hold their shape.
