Vampire contact lenses that finish the costume

You can have the cape, the fangs and the fake blood, but if your eyes are still your normal colour, something feels a bit off. Vampire contact lenses are the bit that makes people do a double take. We wear red ones every single Halloween, and they never get old.

There are a few different kinds of vampire, so we've kept this page to the looks we actually see people go for: classic red, dark and soulless black, and the golden Twilight eyes.

Red vampire contacts

Block Red Contact Lenses are our go to for a true vampire stare. They're a solid red all over, so there's no mistaking what you are. At 14.5mm they make the eye look a touch bigger too, which adds to the slightly unnerving effect.

Red Manson Contact Lenses are a deep red with a black ring round the outside. That dark edge makes the eye look sharper and more intense, so we love them for a gothic Dracula or a vampire bride. They're a slightly smaller 14mm, so they sit a bit more naturally.

For Twilight fans, Twilight Bella Red Contact Lenses give you those newborn red eyes from Breaking Dawn, and they work for a Volturi costume too.

Black and gold vampire eyes

Not every vampire has red eyes. Black Round Contact Lenses turn the iris into a big dark circle, which looks brilliant for a hungry, feral vampire or anything a bit demonic. In low light they look almost like your whole eye has gone dark.

Then there's the gentler kind. Twilight Bella Contact Lenses are golden yellow with a thin black line, the Cullen look for vampires who'd rather not bite anyone.

How we'd do vampire makeup

Go a shade or two paler on foundation and add a touch of grey or purple shadow in the inner corners and under the eyes. That tired, sunken look makes red lenses pop. A dark berry lip and a little fake blood at the corner of the mouth finish it off. Our tip is to put your lenses in before you do your eye makeup, so you don't get bits of shadow on them.

Wearing them safely

All our vampire contact lenses are non prescription, CE certified and have a clear pupil area, so you can see normally. Wash and dry your hands, rub and rinse them in fresh solution and keep them in a clean case. Never sleep in them, however late the party goes, and never share them. If they sting or feel wrong, take them out. Anyone with eye problems should check with an optician first.

Red is the classic, think Dracula and most vampire films. Black works for a feral or demonic vampire, and gold is the Twilight look for vampires who only drink animal blood. We stock all three, so pick whichever suits your costume.

Yes. Block Red and Red Manson are bold, solid colours, so they show up clearly on brown eyes. The red can look slightly deeper indoors and brighter in daylight or under a camera flash.
Can I see properly with vampire contact lenses?
Yes, the lenses on this page all have a clear pupil, so your vision stays normal. In a dark room your pupil gets bigger, so you might see a faint tint round the edges. They have no power, so they won't help or change your eyesight.

Do I need a prescription for vampire contacts?
No. They're plano, so they have no power and you don't need a prescription to buy them in the UK. If you wear glasses, you'll still need them to see clearly, as these lenses won't correct your vision.
How long can I wear vampire contact lenses on Halloween?
We'd stick to around 8 hours. Put them in once your face makeup is mostly done, take your case and solution out with you, and take them out before bed. If your eyes feel dry, give them a break.

How long do vampire contact lenses last?
They're 1 year wear when cleaned and stored properly, so you can wear them for Halloween, a few parties and next Halloween as well. Bin them sooner if a lens gets torn or feels scratchy.
