Code Geass contact lenses for Lelouch cosplay
Code Geass has stuck around in the cosplay world for years, and we still see a Lelouch or two at every con we go to. The cape, the Zero mask and the Ashford uniform are all brilliant, but it's the eyes that make it. One violet, one red with the Geass sigil, and suddenly you're giving orders to the whole queue for the toilets.
This page is where we keep our Code Geass contact lenses. Character lenses come and go with stock, so if it's looking a bit empty when you visit, check back or have a look through our red and violet collections, which have plenty that work for the series.
Lelouch's Geass eye, explained
In the anime, Lelouch has violet eyes most of the time. When he uses his Geass, a red bird shaped sigil appears in his left eye. Later on, once his power gets out of control, it's in both. So you've got a few ways to do him:
- Violet in both eyes for an everyday Lelouch, like in the school scenes.
- Violet in the right and a red Geass sigil lens in the left, for the classic look.
- Red Geass in both eyes for the later series or a more dramatic photoshoot.
For the odd eye look, buy two pairs and wear one lens from each. Just keep the spare lenses labelled in separate cases so you don't mix up left and right later.
Other Code Geass characters
It's not all about Lelouch. C.C. has golden yellow eyes, Suzaku Kururugi has green eyes, Kallen Kozuki has blue eyes, and Rolo has violet ones like his brother. Mao also gets the Geass in both eyes. For any of these, a plain opaque lens in the right colour does the job, and our colour collections have lots of options at £12.99 a pair.
Will they cover dark eyes?
Red and violet are tricky colours on dark brown eyes, so pick an opaque lens with plenty of pigment. A bold outer ring helps a lot. On very dark eyes, violet can look a little deeper indoors than it does in daylight. In photos, a thin line of black liner close to the lashes makes the colour much clearer.
Our convention tips
Pop your lenses in at home or at the hotel with clean, dry hands. Take a case and a small bottle of solution in your bag, plus your glasses if you wear them. Convention halls are dry, so if your eyes start to feel scratchy, take a break. Lenses with a clear pupil are fine for walking about. If a design covers the pupil, keep it for posing only.
Care and wear
Our lenses are 1 year wear when you clean and store them properly, so one pair of Code Geass contact lenses will last you plenty of cons. Rub and rinse in fresh solution, keep them in a clean case, never use tap water and never sleep in them. Order before 2pm on a working day and they go out the same day.
