Anime contact lenses for your next cosplay

Half of us here are proper anime fans, so this is the collection we have the most fun with. Getting the eyes right is the bit that makes a cosplay click. A wig and costume get you most of the way, then the lenses go in and suddenly you look like the character rather than someone dressed as them.

We've grouped our anime contacts by the look of the character's eyes, so you'll find soft natural colours, bold block colours and some really detailed patterned designs in here.

Naruto and Sharingan contact lenses

Naruto is the series we get asked about most. The Kakashi Hatake Sharingan Contact Lenses, Triple Tomoe Sharingan Contact Lenses and Itachi Uchiha Mangekyō Sharingan Contact Lenses all have a clear pupil, so you can wear them round a convention hall. If you're doing Itachi, you could wear a pair of the dark Itachi Uchiha Naruto Contact Lenses for most of the day and swap to the Mangekyō for photos. A bit of fun for the shoot. Just remember the Madara Uchiha design has no pupil hole, so that one is for posing only.

Jujutsu Kaisen, Oshi No Ko and Demon Slayer anime contacts

The Satoru Gojo Contact Lenses are a really bright blue for his Six Eyes, and there's an icier Snow version too if you want that pale, almost glowing look. For Oshi No Ko, the Ai Hoshino Purple Contact Lenses have her white star in the middle, and the Ruby and Aquamarine Hoshino pairs are in here as well. Demon Slayer fans have a whole section, from Tanjiro's dark red to Nezuko's pink slit eyes.

Big eye anime contacts vs natural looks

Most of these are 14.2mm to 14.5mm. The 14.2mm pairs look closer to a normal iris, which is nice if your character has fairly realistic eyes. The 14.5mm ones give a slightly bigger, bolder iris that reads more anime on camera. Our tip from loads of conventions is to add a thin line of liner close to the lash line. It frames the lens and makes the colour show up properly in photos, even under rubbish hall lighting.

On dark brown eyes, the opaque pairs cover well. The softer, lighter designs will still change your colour but can look a touch deeper indoors than they do in daylight.

Wearing them at a convention

Put them in at home or the hotel with clean, dry hands, not in a toilet queue at the venue. Take a case and a little bottle of solution in your bag, plus your glasses if you wear them. Convention air is dry, so if they start to feel scratchy, take them out and give your eyes a rest. All our anime contact lenses are 1 year wear when you clean and store them properly, so one pair will see you through plenty of cons. Never sleep in them and never share them with your mates, even if you're doing a group cosplay.

Anime Contact Lenses FAQs

Are anime contact lenses safe to wear?
They're safe when you buy CE certified lenses and look after them properly. All ours are CE certified and non-prescription. Wash your hands before touching them, use fresh solution every time, never tap water, and don't sleep in them. If your eyes go red or sore, take them out. If you've got any eye problems, have a quick chat with an optician first.
Where can I buy anime contact lenses in the UK?
Right here. We're a small UK shop and we post everything from the UK, so there's no waiting weeks for a parcel from abroad. Order before 2pm on a working day and it goes out the same day with Royal Mail next day delivery. Every pair of anime contacts is £12.99, or any 2 for £22.99 or 3 for £31.99.
Can you see properly in anime contacts?
With most of them, yes. The majority of our anime lenses have a clear pupil, so your vision is normal. A few designs, like Madara Uchiha and the Demon Slayer Upper Rank sclera styles, have no pupil hole and block your sight. We mark those clearly. Keep them for photos and don't walk about busy halls in them.
Do anime contact lenses work on brown eyes?
Yes, most of our anime contacts are opaque, so they'll cover brown eyes. Bright and patterned designs like the Sharingan pairs show up really well on dark eyes. Softer colours can look a little deeper indoors and lighter in daylight. If you have very dark eyes, a lens with a bold outer ring tends to give the cleanest result.
What size are anime contact lenses?
Ours are mostly between 14.0mm and 14.6mm. A 14.2mm lens looks close to a natural iris, while 14.5mm gives a slightly bigger, bolder eye that looks more anime in photos. We don't sell huge 22mm full sclera lenses. Each product page lists the diameter, water content and base curve so you can compare.
How long do anime contacts last?
Our anime contact lenses are 1 year wear from when you first open them, as long as you clean and store them properly. That means rub and rinse with fresh solution after each wear and keep them in a clean case. If a lens gets torn or feels wrong, bin it, even if the year isn't up.
Can I wear anime contacts all day at a convention?
Plenty of people do, but go easy if you're new to lenses. Convention halls are dry and warm, so eyes can get tired. Pop them in at home, keep a case and solution in your bag, and take them out if they sting or feel scratchy. Have your glasses on you as a backup.
Do I need a prescription for anime contact lenses?
No, ours are non-prescription (0.00 power), so they won't correct your sight. They're purely cosmetic. If you normally wear glasses or prescription lenses, you'll need to sort your vision another way, as you can't wear coloured contacts over normal ones. It's worth asking your optician about options.
Which anime contacts are the most popular?
Naruto lenses are the ones we get asked about most, especially Sharingan designs like Kakashi Hatake and Itachi Uchiha Mangekyō Sharingan. Satoru Gojo is another big one, and the Oshi No Ko star eyes always go quickly around con season. Demon Slayer pairs like Tanjiro and Nezuko are popular too.
What's the easiest way to put in anime contacts?
Wash and dry your hands, check the lens isn't inside out (it should look like a bowl, not a saucer), then hold your top lid up and your bottom lid down. Look up slightly and place the lens on the white of your eye, then look around so it settles. Patterned lenses make it easy to spot if one is upside down.
