Mikasa Ackerman contact lenses

Mikasa is one of those cosplays you see at every convention, and fair enough. The red scarf, the short black hair, the Survey Corps jacket with the Wings of Freedom on the back. It's a brilliant look. The bit people often skip is the eyes, and Mikasa's are grey, so if your own eyes are brown the whole thing feels a bit off in close up photos.

That's where our Mikasa Ackerman Attack on Titan Contact Lenses come in. They're a silvery grey with enough pigment to cover dark eyes, and at 14.5mm they give a slightly bigger iris that reads well on camera without looking cartoonish. We love how calm and serious they look, which suits her.

Attack on Titan cosplay contacts on dark eyes

Grey is one of the trickier colours to get right on brown eyes. Too sheer and you end up with a muddy hazel. The Mikasa lenses are properly opaque, so the grey holds up. In daylight they look quite light and silvery. Indoors, under convention lighting, they settle into a softer, darker grey, which is actually closer to how she looks in a lot of the anime scenes.

A tip from us: keep your eye make up quite plain for Mikasa. A thin brown or grey liner and a bit of mascara is plenty. Heavy black flicks fight with the grey and make it look smaller.

Other Attack on Titan characters

Right now Mikasa is the only Attack on Titan pair we stock, but we're always adding to our anime range. If you're planning Eren, Armin or Levi, have a look through our grey, green and blue lenses and match them to the shade you want. Eren's eyes shift between green and teal depending on the season you're watching, so pick the version you're basing your outfit on.

Wearing AOT contacts at a con

Group cosplays are loads of fun, but please don't share lenses within the squad, even if you all fancy grey eyes for the photo. Each person needs their own pair. Put them in at home or at the hotel with clean, dry hands rather than in the venue toilets, take a case and solution with you, and never top up with tap water. Our lenses are 1 year wear when you clean and store them properly, so you can bring Mikasa back for the next con too. Remove them before sleeping, even if the after party runs late. If you've got any eye problems, have a quick word with an optician before trying lenses for the first time.

And because every pair is £12.99, or any 2 for £22.99 or 3 for £31.99, you can pair the Mikasa lenses with something else for your next character and still keep the costume budget sane.

Attack on Titan Contact Lenses FAQs

What colour are Mikasa's eyes in Attack on Titan?
Mikasa Ackerman has grey eyes. Depending on the scene and lighting in the anime they can look quite dark, almost charcoal, or lighter and silvery. Our Mikasa Ackerman contact lenses sit nicely in the middle, a silvery grey that looks lighter in daylight and a bit deeper indoors, so they work for most cosplay photos.
Do Mikasa contact lenses cover brown eyes?
Yes. They're opaque and well pigmented, so they cover brown and even very dark eyes. Grey on dark eyes can look a touch deeper than it does on lighter eyes, especially indoors, but you'll still get a clear grey rather than a muddy brown. It's one of the reasons we picked this design for Mikasa.
Are Attack on Titan contact lenses safe?
Our Attack on Titan contacts are CE certified and non-prescription. They're safe when you treat them like any other lens. Wash and dry your hands, use fresh solution, never tap water, don't sleep in them and don't share them. If they sting or feel wrong, take them out straight away.
What colour are Eren Yeager's eyes?
Eren's eyes are green, often with a teal or turquoise tint depending on the season and the lighting. Earlier seasons lean more teal, later ones look greener. We don't currently sell a dedicated Eren pair, but a green or teal lens from our main colour range works well for his cosplay.
What colour are Levi Ackerman's eyes?
Levi's eyes are a cool grey, sometimes shown with a slight blue tint. A lot of Levi cosplayers go for a grey lens with a natural look so it doesn't distract from the sharp, tired expression he's known for. We don't have a Levi branded pair at the moment, but our grey lenses are a good match.
How long do Mikasa Ackerman contacts last?
Our Mikasa Ackerman contact lenses are 1 year wear once opened, as long as you look after them. Rub and rinse them in fresh solution after every wear and store them in a clean case with fresh solution. If a lens tears or starts to feel uncomfortable, replace it.
Do I need a prescription for cosplay contact lenses in the UK?
Our Attack on Titan lenses are non-prescription (plano), so you can buy them without one. They're purely cosmetic and won't correct your vision. If you normally need glasses to see, bear in mind that these won't help with that, so plan your day around it or chat to an optician.
Can you see normally with Attack on Titan contacts?
Yes, the Mikasa lenses have a clear pupil, so your vision is normal. The odd person notices the edge of the coloured part in low light at first, but it usually settles quickly. They're fine for walking round a convention all day, as long as your eyes feel comfy.
What else do I need for a Mikasa cosplay?
The classics are a short black bob wig, the red scarf, a Survey Corps jacket with the Wings of Freedom patch, white trousers, brown boots and some strap harness detail. ODM gear props finish it off. Add grey lenses and keep the make up simple, as she's not a glam character.
How quickly can I get Attack on Titan contacts before a convention?
If you order before 2pm on a working day, we post it the same day with Royal Mail next day delivery. There's also a paid Saturday delivery option. We'd still say order a week or so before the con if you can, so you've got time to practise putting them in.
