Touhou contact lenses for your Gensokyo cosplay
Touhou has one of the biggest casts in any game series, and loads of the girls have really striking eye colours. Red for the Scarlet sisters, yellow for Marisa, blue for Cirno. A good pair of lenses is often the bit that makes a Touhou cosplay click, because the wigs are so bright that natural brown eyes can look a bit flat next to them.
We don't have named Touhou lenses on this page right now, so here's what we'd pick from our other colours instead. Honestly, it's the same advice we'd give a mate heading to a con.
Red eyes for Remilia, Flandre and Reisen
Remilia and Flandre Scarlet both need properly red eyes, and so does Reisen. Flame Red Contact Lenses are a bright, clean red that shows up well in photos. Bullseye Red Contact Lenses are bolder still. If you want something a bit softer and more anime, Anime Red Contact Lenses have a playful look that suits the cuter characters.
For Flandre in particular, we like a slightly bigger lens. Most of these red contacts are 14.5mm, so the iris looks a touch larger and rounder, which fits the art style nicely.
Yellow, blue and purple picks
Marisa Kirisame has golden yellow eyes. Creepy Yellow Contact Lenses give you a strong, bright yellow, though they lean a little spooky, so keep the makeup soft and cute to balance it. Cirno's icy blue works brilliantly with Sky Blue Contact Lenses or Intense Blue Contact Lenses if you want more punch. Patchouli fans can go purple with Indigo Purple Contact Lenses or Dreamy Purple Contact Lenses for something gentler.
If your character has green eyes, like Sanae or Koishi, our green range has plenty to choose from too.
Our tips for wearing them at a con
Practise at home first. Put your lenses in a few days before the event so you know how they feel after a couple of hours. Convention halls get dry and warm, so pack your case, a little bottle of solution and a mirror in your bag.
Brown or white liner on the waterline helps the colour pop, especially with red and yellow. And if you're doing a group, get everyone their own pair. Never share lenses, even with your Touhou bestie.
Price, delivery and care
Every pair of our cosplay contact lenses is £12.99, and any 2 pairs are £22.99, so you can sort two characters for one weekend. Order before 2pm on a working day and it goes out the same day with next day delivery.
All our lenses are non prescription and last a year when you look after them. Wash your hands, rub and rinse in fresh solution, and keep them in a clean case. Remove before sleeping, and take them out if they sting.
