From the Lensmate team

Tohru is one of those characters where the eyes really make the cosplay. You can have the maid dress, the horns and the tail all perfect, but without those dragon slit pupils she just looks like a maid with a headband. Pop the lenses in and it all clicks.

Right now this collection is all about Tohru, because she's the one people come to us for. We'd rather do one character properly than rush out a load of so so lenses.

Tohru Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid contact lenses

Tohru Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Contact Lenses have a dragon slit pupil design to match her eyes in the show. They're 14.5mm, which gives a slightly bigger, bolder iris and suits the anime look really well. With 38% water content they're standard and comfy, so you can wear them for a good chunk of a convention day.

The slit is printed in the colour part of the lens, and there's a clear centre over your own pupil, so you can still see. Your side vision can feel a little different with a bold design like this, so take care on stairs and in busy halls.

Putting together a Tohru cosplay

  • Wig and brows: a long orange to blonde wig with brows filled in a soft orange looks much more finished than dark brows.
  • Make up: a warm red or orange eyeshadow round the outer corners pulls the eye colour out in photos.
  • Horns and tail: try everything on with the lenses before the day, so you can see the whole look together.
  • Dragon form: the same lenses work brilliantly if you're doing a scalier, more dragon style version for Halloween.

Not just for Dragon Maid fans

Because they're dragon eyes, these lenses work for more than one costume. We've seen them used for dragon and demon looks at Halloween, fantasy cosplay and even reptile style fancy dress. If you want a different colour of slit eye, have a look at our cat eye contact lenses too.

Doing the show as a group? Kanna, Elma and the others don't have their own lenses with us yet, but our wider cosplay contact lenses range has plenty of colours that work well for them.

Price, delivery and care

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Contact Lenses FAQs

What colour are Tohru's eyes in Dragon Maid?
Tohru has warm, bright eyes with dragon style slit pupils, which is what makes her look so different from the human characters. Our Tohru Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Contact Lenses are made to match that dragon slit look for cosplay.
Can you see properly with Tohru contact lenses?
Yes, there's a clear centre over your pupil, so you can see. With a bold slit design your side vision can feel a bit different, so take extra care on stairs, escalators and in busy convention halls.
Are Dragon Maid contact lenses safe?
Ours are CE certified and non prescription, and they're safe when you look after them. Wash and dry your hands, use fresh solution every time, never use tap water and never sleep in them. If they sting or feel wrong, take them out.
What size are the Tohru contact lenses?
They're 14.5mm, which gives a slightly bigger, bolder iris than a natural lens. That suits an anime character like Tohru really well. They have 38% water content, which is standard and comfortable for most people.
Do you sell Kanna Kamui contact lenses?
Not as a named lens yet. Right now our Dragon Maid range is Tohru. For Kanna or other characters, have a browse of our cosplay contact lenses and colour ranges, as there are lots of shades that work well.
Can I use Tohru lenses for a Halloween dragon costume?
Definitely. The dragon slit pupils work brilliantly for dragon, demon and reptile looks at Halloween too. Add a bit of scale make up round the eyes and you've got a proper fantasy creature.
How long do cosplay contact lenses last?
Our Tohru lenses last up to 12 months once opened, as long as you clean and store them properly. Rub and rinse after each wear, store them in fresh solution in a clean case and never top up old solution.
Are slit pupil contact lenses uncomfortable?
They shouldn't be. The design is just printed colour, so it feels like any other soft lens. Ours are 38% water content, which is standard and comfy. If your eyes feel dry, take a break and take them out before sleeping.
Do I need a prescription for cosplay contacts?
No. All our lenses are non prescription (0.00 power), so they just change how your eyes look. If you've had any eye problems, it's worth a quick chat with an optician before trying coloured lenses.
Can I get Dragon Maid contact lenses next day in the UK?
Yes. Order before 2pm on a working day and we send it the same day with Royal Mail next day delivery. There's a paid Saturday option too. Every pair is £12.99, or any 2 for £22.99 or 3 for £31.99.
