Orange eyes don't really exist in real life, which is exactly why they work so well for costumes. The second someone sees them, they know you're not quite human. Demons, fire spirits, monsters, a certain control devil. Orange does a lot of heavy lifting for a costume.
We've got three orange contact lenses at the moment, and they're all quite different, so here's how we'd choose.
Flaming Sun and Fireball
Flaming Sun Contact Lenses are our hottest looking pair. They're an orange and yellow fire design, a bit like a solar flare, so the eyes look like they're glowing from the inside. We love them for fire demons, phoenix costumes and Day of the Dead looks with warm colours.
Fireball Contact Lenses are a deeper, fiery orange. They're a bit more solid in colour, which reads really well from a distance and in party lighting. Great for devils, monsters and anything evil at Halloween.
Both are 14.5mm, so they give a slightly bigger, bolder iris, and they have 40% water content, which is standard and comfy.
Makima contact lenses
Makima Contact Lenses are for Chainsaw Man fans. Makima's eyes are a golden orange with thin black rings circling the iris, and that's the look these are made to match. They're 14.5mm with 38% water content. Pair them with a low braid wig, a white shirt and black tie and you're there. They also work as a creepy, hypnotic eye for Halloween if you're not doing Makima at all.
How we'd wear orange eyes
- All three have a clear pupil, so you can see. Bold designs can make side vision feel a little different, so take it easy on stairs.
- Orange looks brightest in daylight and under warm party lights. In dim rooms it goes a bit deeper and more amber.
- Black or dark red liner round the eye makes orange really pop. For Makima, keep the make up softer so the rings stand out.
- Put your lenses in before face paint and glitter so nothing gets on them.
Mix and match for Halloween
Any 2 pairs are £22.99, so you can grab a pair of orange contacts and something else, like a yellow cat eye or a red vampire lens, for another night. Have a look at our Halloween contact lenses and yellow ranges too, as there are a few golden and fiery shades that sit nicely alongside orange.
Price, delivery and care
Every pair is £12.99. Our orange contact lenses are non prescription, CE certified and last up to 12 months with proper care. Rub and rinse with fresh solution after each wear, keep them in a clean case, never use tap water and always take them out before sleeping. Don't share them, even for a quick photo.
Orders before 2pm on a working day go out the same day with Royal Mail next day delivery, and there's a paid Saturday option if your party's on the weekend. You can pay later with Klarna, and every order comes with free sweeties.
