From the Lensmate team

Lenses do a lot of the work at Halloween, but it's the little extras that make a costume look finished. A bit of fake blood at the corner of the mouth, a nasty looking scar on the cheek, and suddenly your zombie looks like it's actually been through something. That's what this little range is for.

We keep it simple. Just the bits we use ourselves every October, at prices that won't eat into your costume budget.

Halloween fake blood

Our Halloween Fake Blood comes in a 25g tub for £4.99. It's buildable, so you can do a light smear or keep layering for a proper gory look. It's made with food ingredients and it washes off, which is handy when you've got to look normal again for work the next day. We dab it on with a cotton bud or a small brush rather than fingers, as it gives you more control around the lips and nose.

Scar and wound transfers

If you're not confident with special effects make up, transfers are a lifesaver. Halloween Scar Wounds are £2.99 for 10 random wound and scar transfers, and Halloween Wound Transfers are £3.49 for 5 random designs. Because the designs are random, every pack is a bit of a surprise, which is half the fun.

Our tip is to add a tiny bit of fake blood around the edge of a wound transfer. It blends it into your skin and makes it look much more real in photos.

Halloween face transfers

Halloween Face Transfers come in a pack of 10 for £5.99. They're great for a quick look when you haven't got time for full face paint, and they're brilliant for kids' parties too (with a grown up doing the eye side of things). Pop one on, add a dark lip, and you're halfway there.

Putting a Halloween look together

A quick word on lenses and make up

Always put your contact lenses in before your face make up, fake blood or glitter, and with clean, dry hands. That way nothing ends up on the lens. Take your lenses out before you start removing make up at the end of the night, and never sleep in them. Some of our Halloween contact lenses, like blackout and full sclera styles, block or blur your vision, so they're for photos and posing rather than walking about at busy events.

Price and delivery

Halloween contact lenses are £12.99 a pair, or any 2 pairs for £22.99 or 3 for £31.99, and you can add these accessories to the same order. Orders before 2pm on a working day go out the same day with Royal Mail next day delivery, and there's a paid Saturday option if your party's on the weekend. Around late October we'd still order a few days early if you can, just to be safe.

Halloween Accessories FAQs

Does fake blood wash off skin?
Our Halloween Fake Blood is made with food ingredients and washes off. Warm water and a bit of face wash usually does it. Like any fake blood, test it on a small patch first and keep it away from pale fabrics, just in case.
Is your fake blood safe to use near the mouth?
It's made with food ingredients, so it's a popular choice for dripping from the lips on vampire and zombie looks. It's still a make up product though, so don't eat it, and keep it well away from your eyes and contact lenses.
How do you make fake wounds look real?
Start with a wound or scar transfer, then dab a little fake blood around the edges so it blends into your skin. Build the blood up in thin layers rather than one big blob. A touch of dark shadow around the edge adds depth in photos.
How many transfers come in a pack?
Halloween Scar Wounds come with 10 random wound and scar transfers for £2.99. Halloween Wound Transfers have 5 random designs for £3.49. Halloween Face Transfers are a pack of 10 for £5.99. The wound packs are random, so designs vary.
Are Halloween face transfers good for kids?
They're a really easy option for kids' parties, as there's no messy face paint. Just follow the instructions on the pack and do a little patch test first if they've got sensitive skin. Contact lenses aren't for children, so keep those for the grown ups.
Should I put contact lenses in before or after Halloween make up?
Before. Wash and dry your hands, put your lenses in, then do your face. That stops fake blood, glitter or powder getting onto the lens. At the end of the night, take your lenses out first, then remove your make up.
What Halloween contact lenses go with fake blood?
Red lenses like Block Red and Red Manson are great for vampires, and Zombie lenses or White Manson work brilliantly for zombies and horror looks. Blood Splatter Yellow already has red splatter on it, so it pairs really well with fake blood.
Can I wear blackout lenses with a full Halloween costume?
You can for photos, but blackout and full sclera lenses with no clear pupil block or blur your vision. That means no driving, stairs or walking about at busy events in them. For a whole night out, pick a lens with a clear pupil.
How much are your Halloween accessories?
Halloween Fake Blood is £4.99, Halloween Scar Wounds are £2.99, Halloween Wound Transfers are £3.49 and Halloween Face Transfers are £5.99. Our lenses are £12.99 a pair or any 2 for £22.99 or 3 for £31.99, so you can grab everything in one order.
Can I get Halloween accessories next day in the UK?
Yes. Order before 2pm on a working day and we send it the same day with Royal Mail next day delivery. There's a paid Saturday option too. In the last week of October we'd order a few days early if you can.
