Contact lens cases you'll actually want to carry

A lens case doesn't have to be a boring white plastic thing that lives at the back of the bathroom cupboard. We've ended up with quite a collection of cute ones over the years, and a nice case really does make you more likely to look after your lenses properly. You'll find everything from a simple £1.99 case to sparkly kits with a built in mirror.

Every case keeps your left and right lenses apart, which matters even more with coloured lenses, as a few of our designs are odd eye pairs.

Contact lens case and kit sets

Our most popular style is the Contact Lens Case and Kit. It's a small pot with a mirror in the lid, a mini case, a little solution bottle, tweezers and an applicator inside. It's everything you need in your handbag for a night out or a weekend away. The plain versions come in Yellow, Black, Blue, Green, Turquoise, Pink, Purple and White for £3.99. The baby pink one is the one people pick most.

For something a bit shinier, the Metallic kits come in Gold, Black, Rose Gold, Silver, Turquoise and Pink for £4.99. If you like a bit of sparkle, the Diamond Green, Diamond Pink and Diamond Blue kits are about 7.5 x 7.5cm with a mirror, mini case, applicator and tweezers, at £5.49. The Black Constellation kit is a little bigger, about 8 x 8 x 3cm, for £5.99.

Cute fruit and animal lens cases

These are the ones that make us smile. The Strawberry, Watermelon, Pineapple and Peach cases are for fruit fans, and the Bear, Frog, Elephant, Chick, Sheep, Octopus and Tiger kits are for everyone else. They're £3.49 each with a mini case, tweezers and applicator. The Cactus kit is a bargain at £1.99, and the Disney Winnie the Pooh Contact Lens Case has Pooh and Tigger on the lid for £2.99.

Simple spare cases

If you just need a plain case to keep in a drawer or at work, the Contact Lens Case comes in 6 colours for £1.99. There's also a basic Contact Lens Case and Kit in yellow, green, pink or blue for £2.99, with tweezers and an applicator included. Having a spare means you're never stuck if you leave your main one at a mate's house.

How to keep your contact lens case clean

  • Empty the old solution every time and refill with fresh solution. Never top up.
  • Rinse the case with solution, not tap water, then leave it open to air dry upside down.
  • Replace your case every few months, or straight away if it's cracked or looks grubby.
  • Use the tweezers to lift lenses out of the case, never to touch your eye.

Picking the right one

If you wear lenses for cosplay or conventions, a kit with a mirror is really handy, as venue toilets are rarely well lit. For a holiday, pick one with a solution bottle so you don't need to pack a big bottle. And if you've got a few pairs of coloured contacts, a different case for each pair helps you remember which is which. Order before 2pm on a working day and your case goes out the same day.

Contact Lens Cases FAQs

How often should you replace a contact lens case?
Every few months is a good rule, or sooner if it gets cracked or grubby. Old cases build up germs even if you clean them. Ours start at £1.99, so it's an easy swap.
How do you clean a contact lens case?
Tip out the old solution, rinse the case with fresh contact lens solution, then leave it open and upside down to air dry. Never use tap water. Refill it with fresh solution each time you store your lenses.
Which side of a contact lens case is right?
Most cases mark one side with an R or a different coloured lid. Always put your right lens in the same side so you don't mix them up. It matters most with odd eye cosplay lenses, where each lens is different.
What comes in your contact lens case kits?
Most of our kits include a mirror, a mini lens case, a small solution bottle, tweezers and an applicator. The cute fruit and animal kits have a mini case, tweezers and an applicator. Each product page lists exactly what's inside.
Can I keep coloured contacts in any lens case?
Yes, any clean contact lens case is fine for coloured lenses. Just make sure it seals properly so the solution doesn't leak and the lenses stay covered. Lenses that dry out can tear.
Can I take a contact lens case on a plane?
Yes, cases are fine in hand luggage. Liquids in hand luggage are usually limited, so our kits with a small solution bottle are handy. Check your airline's rules before you fly.
How long can contact lenses stay in the case?
If you're not wearing them for a while, change the solution regularly rather than leaving the same liquid for weeks. Before you wear them again, give them a rub and rinse with fresh solution. If they look or feel wrong, don't use them.
Are the tweezers in the kit for putting lenses in?
No, they're for lifting lenses out of the case. Never use tweezers near your eye. Use clean fingertips or the soft applicator tool to put lenses in and take them out.
What's the cheapest contact lens case you sell?
The plain Contact Lens Case and the Cactus kit are both £1.99. The basic Contact Lens Case and Kit is £2.99 and includes tweezers and an applicator.
How fast will my contact lens case arrive?
Order before 2pm on a working day and it goes out the same day with Royal Mail next day delivery. There's also a paid Saturday delivery option if you need it for the weekend.
